Learn English at Language Tree in Cornwall - An exciting mix of language, culture and adventure!

For our first blog post, we thought it would be interesting to explain a little why we think you should join one of our courses.

Firstly, when a student or a school or college group chooses to study with us our aim, above all others, is to give each and every student one of the best learning experiences they have ever had.

We want their memories of Cornwall to last a lifetime.

From our point of view, that starts from when you make your first enquiry about coming to study with us.

We will take our time to get to know you and your group and we will discuss with you the types of excursions and activities that your group would enjoy and which would complement their courses at home.

Of course, first and foremost, our courses start in the classroom. We have an amazing team of highly qualified and experienced teachers who are used to teaching students of all levels and we make sure we know the levels of your students before they even arrive in the UK.

We will send you tests to complete and return to us (or you can direct the students to do these tests online). This means before the students arrive, we will have all our materials ready and no time is lost with testing and putting students in groups at the beginning of the course.

From the first day of classes, the students will be taught in small groups with other students of a similar level to them. Our teachers will make sure the materials in the lessons are engaging with just the right amount of challenge to push forward their English language skills.

In addition to challenging students in the classroom, we also want to give the students new experiences and challenges outside the classroom too :)

Cornwall has so many diverse and interesting things to do that are not possible in other parts of the UK. We work very closely with some great organisations in Cornwall so we can offer you and your students some amazing experiences they will never forget.

As local residents of Cornwall, we believe our in-depth knowledge of this amazing county gives us the possibility to offer you activities and excursions that would not get with other schools. We will always go that extra mile and use all our local knowledge to provide you with some really interesting and unusual excursions that your group will love!

As well as having lots of fun on excursions, we are also aware of the need to consider our environmental impact on the world. We are constantly evaluating our school to make sure we are working in the most sustainable ways possible.

One aspect of this is that we encourage groups to come to Cornwall by coach. While it can take a little longer to get here, it is the most sustainable way to bring a group to Cornwall from most European destinations. It also means we can keep the costs down when you are here because you already have the transport to get you around Cornwall.

As part of our packages, we will provide accommodation for your bus driver and we will organise secure coach parking for the duration of your visit.

We also like to build sustainability into our activities and excursions to really get students thinking about the impact we all have on the planet. One of the most effective ways we can do this in Cornwall is through doing a beach clean.

When people come to Cornwall, they look at the magnificent beaches and say that there is nothing to clean. However, when we look a little deeper, everyone is amazed at the amount of plastic - in particular micro plastics that there are on the beaches here (and, unfortunately, all over the world).

For our beach cleans, we work with Beach Guardian - an amazing, family-run charity in Cornwall - who do beach cleans every day of the year!

Their beach cleans are so inspiring as Rob and Emily give loads of fascinating information about the things we find on the beach. By the end of the clean, everyone feels really empowered for what we can all do to improve our local environment just that little bit.

I hope this post gives a little insight into how you will learn more than just a language when you study with us.

Please get in touch ([email protected]) and we can begin to put together a special programme for you.

We welcome individuals and groups all year round.

We are here for you and we cannot wait to introduce you to Cornwall :)
