Cornwall is a beautiful county in the south-west of England and it is the perfect place to learn English.
Unlike the famous big cities in the UK, Cornwall is a relatively quiet part of the UK. However, the area has a rich history with beautiful beaches and friendly people. This makes it the perfect destination for a wonderful language holiday. |

Go to the beach: www.visitcornwall.com/beaches
There are literally hundreds to choose from and they are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can choose from quiet, calm coves to busy surfing beaches with live music. There is something for everyone. Watch the video to see which one you like best... The Eden Project: www.edenproject.com One of the top tourist attractions in the UK, the Eden Project is an awe-inspiring place where you can walk through a tropical jungle, a Mediterranean garden and learn about the world of plants. There are activities for all ages, making it a perfect family outing. Cycle the Camel Trail: www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/camel-trail One of the best ways to experience Cornwall is by bike. There are a wide variety of cycle trails around the county and the Camel Trail is one of the most popular. It follows an old railway line along the Camel Estuary finishing in the beautiful fishing village of Padstow - a perfect place to enjoy a pasty and ice-cream (or visit one of Rick Stein's famous restaurants if you would prefer some more sophisticated food). Read more about our excursion to the Camel Trail on our blog. Tate St Ives: www.tate.org.uk/visit/tate-st-ives Part of the Tate art gallery collective - one of the most famous art gallery groups in the UK - Tate St Ives celebrates the rich history of famous artists that have lived in St Ives. As well as the art gallery, Tate also runs the Barbara Hepworth sculpture garden, tucked away in one of narrow streets of this wonderful seaside town. Minack Theatre: www.minack.com This must surely be one of the most dramatic theatre locations in the world. The Minack Theatre is carved into the side of a cliff right at the very end of Cornwall near Land's End. It is a truly magical place to watch a play, backdropped by the ocean and sunset. Falmouth & Pendennis Castle: www.falmouth.co.uk Falmouth has a long maritime history connecting the UK to the rest of the world. Pendennis Castle overlooks the town and was built by Henry VIII to protect the harbour from the Spanish Armada. Nowadays, Falmouth is a bustling harbour town which hosts a variety of maritime festivals during the summer. |
