Language, Culture and Adventure in Cornwall! |
Fantastic language holidays for teenagers, families & adultsWe offer three different programmes from our wonderful home on the Penryn Campus in the heart of Cornwall:
It is an absolute pleasure to welcome students from so many countries to come and learn all about Cornwall while also developing their English language skills. Every year, we visit and discover amazing places and make some unforgettable memories. On our summer programmes, we provide 15 hours of English language classes each week. From Monday to Friday, we run our English language classes in the mornings. We split the mornings into two sections. During the first half of the morning we focus more on language and grammar. Then, in the second half, we move onto topics about the history and culture of Cornwall and the UK. We try to always link these activities to our excursions and activities so the students are prepared for their afternoon activities. All our tutors are native speakers with at least CELTA level qualifications. We also recruit our teachers from the local area so they have that in-depth knowledge about Cornwall to pass on to the students. As you can see from the pictures, Cornwall is an amazing and beautiful place. It is situated in the far south-west of the UK and so we are surrounded by the most spectacular coastline. On the northern side, we face the Atlantic Ocean, this side of Cornwall has dramatic cliffs and great waves for surfing. The southern side of the county is far more sheltered with calm seas perfect for paddle boarding and boat trips. In addition to the coastline, Cornwall has a rich history of mining, pirates and even a prehistoric Celtic past dating back thousands of years. This gives us an amazing range of different places to visit and stories to tell during the time students are here for their courses. In fact, students often come to Cornwall with some knowledge of its rich history through famous books, films and TV series. If you have ever watched Poldark or read a Rosamunde Pilcher or Daphne du Maurier novel you probably already know a little about the rich history of Cornwall. There is even the ancient Cornish language! But while you are here we will focus mainly on English :) Book now for 2025:
