Our Vocational English & Ministay courses are aimed at school groups aged 16-19 who are looking to develop their professional skills alongside their English language skills.
These bespoke courses are developed through detailed discussions with the group organiser in order to create a perfect package of lessons and activities focused on the needs and interests of the group of students. On our Vocational English course, students will receive 15 hours of English classes per week (in a CLIL / TVET style). The course programme will be closely focused on the type of language that is relevant to their desired professional field in the future. An integral part of the course will be visits from guest speakers. We also work with partner colleges in Cornwall to find opportunities for international students to meet and socialise with local students studying on similar programmes in Cornwall. Following the morning classes, students will enjoy a varied and active excursion programme that will include the chance to visit interesting companies linked to their professional area of interest. We work closely with a wide variety of companies in Cornwall who are very interested to host visits of international students. Students will receive guided tours of the companies they visit and they will have the opportunity to ask questions to the managers from the company. These visits can provide students with a fantastic insight into potential companies where they could work in the future, opening their eyes to international markets. Cornwall is home to a host of influential companies in the following sectors: tourism and hospitality, marine engineering, chemical engineering, agriculture, information technology, nursing and healthcare, education and sport. As a school, we maintain strong links with local companies to facilitate their participation in our courses. |
