Vocational language courses 
plus: Work Experience & Internships

These courses are aimed at students aged 16-19 who are looking to develop their professional skills alongside their English language skills.

Our vocational language courses are developed through detailed discussions with the group organiser in order to put together a perfect package of lessons and activities focused on the professional field of the group of students.

On a vocational language course, students will receive 15 or 20 hours per week of English classes (in a CLIL style) closely focused on the English language skills relevant to their professional field.

​An integral part of the classes will be visits from guest speakers. We also work with partner colleges in Cornwall to find opportunities for international students to meet and socialise with local students studying on similar programmes in Cornwall.

Following the language classes, students will get to visit key companies in their field of interest. Students will receive guided tours of the companies they visit and they will have the opportunity for Q&A sessions with managers from the company. These visits can provide students with a fantastic insight into potential companies where they could work in the future, opening their eyes to international markets.

​In Cornwall, we have links with important companies in the following sectors: tourism and hospitality, marine engineering, chemical engineering, agriculture, information technology, nursing and healthcare, education and sport.

In addition to our full programme, we can also arrange work experience and internship placements for students in all the sectors outlined above. We can help students with their accommodation and offer support services throughout their internship. 

All our study holiday courses include:
  • 15 or 20 hours per week of English (EFL) language classes
  • 4 half-day excursions per week + 1 full day excursion
  • Daily sporting and cultural activities
